Impact & roadmap

Growth that leaves a place better

Remote work can hollow out a coastline or help sustain it. We intend to be the second kind of business — and to be measured on it. Koh Nomad is currently in development.

Intended commitments

Four things we intend to hold ourselves to

Commitments we plan to publish annually per location, with progress shared openly with members.

80%

Target local hiring per location

Part

Of value created intended for local reinvestment

0

Target single-use plastic bottles in our cafés

25+

Destinations in our long-term ambition

Locally hired teams

Our target is that at least 80% of every location's team is hired within the region, with training and progression paths.

Regenerative sourcing

Our intention is to source produce from nearby farms, run seasonal menus and avoid imported bottled water across the network.

Low-impact building

Design principles for future sites: passive cooling, local timber, reclaimed materials, solar where the grid allows and rainwater capture.

Community reinvestment

The long-term model is intended to allocate part of the value created by the ecosystem to locally relevant initiatives, selected with local partners.

Development roadmap

From one island to a global home

A forward-looking development plan: deliberate pace, partner-led expansion, and no new destination until the previous one runs to standard. No location is confirmed at this stage.

  1. 2026

    Foundation & partnerships

Project development, identification of Thai partners, institutional discussions, location research, legal and operational structuring, Koh Nomad Foundation development and building of the founding community.

  2. 2027

    Proposed first flagship

Target launch: Koh Samui, Thailand. Pilot implementation, launch of the Koh Nomad digital ecosystem, first local community programmes and first Foundation initiatives — subject to partnerships, site selection and local approvals.

  3. 2028+

    Planned regional expansion

Building on Bangkok, our first active destination, with further markets under study: Chiang Mai, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Bali and other selected Asian destinations. Beyond Bangkok, no market is confirmed at this stage.

Belonging includes the place you landed in

Each location is designed to run language exchanges, local mentorship and volunteer days, so members who spend a season with us leave knowing more than the best café.
